The Magic of Living Your Life to the Fullest

The Magic of Living Your Life to the Fullest

As a Life and Business Development Coach, someone who knows that it is possible for a person to change his or her life by simply changing their thinking…it saddens me to see people who won't do it.

People tell me what they want from life and ask for my help in acquiring it. I can surely guide them to it. I've done that for literally thousands of people. There are those, however, who want only the results, not the process. This is rather akin to wanting to go from New York to California without crossing the country. I don't doubt for a moment that these folks who claim they would like to be in California really would like to be in California, they just are not willing to take the trip. Let me be clear here…I'm a Life and Business Development Coach, not a magician.

Actually, even David Copperfield is not a magician and refers to himself as an illusionist. Having spent considerable time with him, I can assure you that his so-called magic is in his love of entertaining and allowing people the opportunity to challenge their own view of things. As a kid David loved magic tricks and decided to make it his life's "play." You'll notice that I didn't say work.

When we do something we love doing, it just never seems like work but rather like fulfillment of our destiny. Copperfield's three-story New York apartment has an entire floor devoted to his collection of vintage magic tricks…and that's putting it mildly. I've never seen such a collection. He loves the old "magic tricks" and Houdini, his hero, is well represented in the collection.

This world famous illusionist has a great sense of humor and the ability to laugh at challenges and overcome them through clever thinking and attitude. Would that he could just make challenges disappear magically, I'm sure he would. The point is that there is no magic other than the magic of creativity, and successful thinking. Long before Copperfield "made the Statue of Liberty disappear" he visualized its disappearance and then created what was necessary for the rest of the world to see (or in this case… not see) what he saw them not seeing.

The laws of the Universe are such that you CAN have it all, whatever having it all means to you. The catch, if you want to call it that, is that you must be willing to change your thinking and take the necessary actions to get where you want to go in life. We speak often of the fear of failure and not often enough of the fear of success.

Whether it's fear and thoughts of the responsibilities incumbent upon those who are successful or the fear of letting go of all that is familiar (our Sense of Order) in our lives, the end result is the same. It all begins with a decision.

"It is in your moments of decision that your destiny is shaped."
- Anthony Robbins

It is just not possible to go anywhere standing still. The journey can be made, however, one step at a time. Understand, though, that you and only you can make your journey and it begins with that first step. You need not make the journey alone, but only you can take that first step.

If as you've read this you believe I'm writing this just for you, you are probably right. What happens now is entirely up to you. I'd just like to leave you with two parting thoughts:

You have only one life that we know of for sure!
and
A life is a terrible thing to waste!

Your life is yours and only yours, however, and you do have the right to waste it or to make it a magical experience. The decision is yours and only yours…just remember that your decisions do shape your destiny!
